The Central Ohio Hot Jazz Society does its best to spread the word, inform our readers of newsworthy events, past and pending, of interest to our jazz community, and focus attention on happenings all related to our fundamental mission to
"preserve and advance the cause of traditional and hot jazz music ... improve communications among and provide a common meeting ground for all persons interested therein...and increase knowledge and understanding of the essence and development of this art form through live performances and imaginative programs and projects"
--- to quote our COHJS purposes as mandated in our Articles of Incorporation.
The Hot Sheet doesn't exactly have an army of reporters out scouring the countryside for news, so we have to rely on being informed by our members, friends, bandleaders and publicists, festival managers, and any other sources of newsworthy items to publish. And, as someone once said, "If you want to get into the newspapers, first you must make news!" So please let us know of any events or other happenings you think might be newsworthy and of interest to your fellow jazz fans so we can consider it for inclusion in the Hot Sheet newsletter.
